Spousal Support
Spousal support is the same as “alimony”
In determining the amount and duration of spousal support California courts take into consideration a number of factors including the standard of living during marriage, the length of marriage, the income and earning capacity of both spouses, the assets and needs of both spouses, their health and age, and the impact on the children if the caregiver must work. The amount and duration of spousal support is a complex matter.
Your case may involve hidden, fluctuating or deferred income, income from self employment, or imputation of income to a spouse who is not working but is capable of working.
